Keep Your Facebook Secure!

If you are one of the millions of Facebook users, who ads their own photos and content, this article is for you. We recently discovered an area where security is sorely lacking, and wanted you to be aware of it.

Recently, Facebook has agreed to let third party advertisers use your posted pictures WITHOUT your permission. Can you believe that? I thought the whole point of Facebook, was that your site was secure.
However, here's how to prevent that. Click on SETTINGS up at the top where you see the Logout link. Select PRIVACY. Then select NEWSFEEDS and WALL. Next select the tab FACEBOOK ADS. There is a drop down box, select NO ONE. Then SAVE your changes. Just a few easy steps in order to secure your content, and make sure your photos don't show up somewhere else. Let your other friends and fellow Facebook users in on the tip! It is always better to be safe than sorry!
Here is another interesting feature about Facebook internationally. The following picture shows the search data on Facebook around the world. It is incredible how the world is quickly becoming united through the Internet and social networking!

"Experiences make us happier than Possessions"

Often times we get caught up in the possessions and the things that fill our lives. When birthdays and holidays roll around we are clamouring to find the item that our loved one would like the most, or are hoping to receive that perfect gift we have been looking for. While these possessions are wonderful for a while, over time they loose their lustre, and we are left where we began.

In a recent article put out by CNN, it seems that it is the Experiences that make us happier and add meaning to our lives rather than our possessions. Reflecting upon this article, I wanted to stop and ask the question, what is the return on life that we gain from experiences and vacations?
Have you ever taken a moment to reflect upon a particularly special family vacation or holiday memory? These moments seem to fly past us as we go about our busy lives. At Le Rêve, we believe that these moments are part of what bring joy to our lives and provide a priceless "return on life." Rather than simply planning a vacation, Le Rêve seeks to craft a personalized experience that brings that "return" to your life. Your vacation will not simply be a time to relax, but an experience that will create a family legacy everyone will remember for years to come.

Speaker Presentation - Rediscovering Markets for Business and Leisure Travel

In a downturn economy, it is essential for companies to think outside the box, and pursue other avenues of revenue. Recently, Mike and Taya Paige embarked upon a business trip to Dubai for one month. The objective of this initiative was multifaceted. First, Le Rêve was marketing Southern California as an elite, exclusive, luxury destination to government agencies, corporations, and prominent families in the U.A.E. Additionally, this was not a one-way fact finding mission, rather Mike and Taya Paige sought to rediscover the cross cultural exchange between the two regions which has been lost over the past nine years. Le Rêve is hoping to re-establish Middle East business and leisure travel to the U.S. which was once a staple of their summers away from the desert.

The Le Rêve marketing initiative was unique in its concept and conclusions which Mike has delivered to business representatives as well as the U. S. Dept. of Commercial Development. If you are seeking insight as to access and pull through of Middle Eastern Leisure travel markets, Mike would like to discuss sharing the Le Rêve initiative with your group.

BIO:
~ It's hard to find someone with more diverse experience and talent in the travel management industry than Mike. Over the past 30 years, he has held numerous corporate positions including management training, marketing, field sales, and meetings & conventions management. He has literally traveled the globe, accomplishing everything from planning and implementing award ceremonies for the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to winning awards himself for management excellence.

~ Mike's unique presentations focus on high audience take-away value resulting in improved individual and organizational performance.

~ As a speaker, Mike Paige offers key insight into two business realms that are increasingly significant for companies during this current economic situation. Mike garnered first-hand knowledge of the current perceptions in Dubai and the Middle East, and how businesses can venture into that market. Also Mike has a wealth of knowledge regarding sales and marketing for luxury products and services, and how best to create a connection with elite clientele.

~ Currently Mike and his wife Taya are the owners of Le Rêve Destination Services, which is a Destination Sales and Marketing Company specializing in establishing a cross-cultural and economic exchange by connecting affluent clients with access to luxury services, venues, and experiences. They consider this a process and one where networking, targeting, and relationship building, are a premium in terms of the High Net Worth target market they seek.

Web Site Pet Peeves

We recently read an article about hotel web site pet peeves, which was fascinating. Here are some of the things people dislike.

~ Music that just keeps running and can't be turned off
~ A video that takes forever to load and is on every page of the site
~ Too many adjectives to describe something.... just get to the point
~ There needs to be a map of the surrounding area, which there rarely is!
~ There should be an easier way to book packages.
~ When they lack a service that provides luxury concierge service and trip planning.

As a partner to hotels, this was really interesting to read. We opted out of having music or videos on our site, in order to make it more user-friendly. We also chose to make a blog to tell the story from all of our destinations that we represent. (Dubai Luxury Travel Blog)

We hope to provide the last item, through cusomized itinerary development, where every businessman or family can have their vacation planned from their arrival to the moment the step on a plane. Save time on planning and use it to create priceless memories with your family.

Surf City, USA

I am originally from Colorado, so when I first came to California, the one thing I wanted to learn how to do was Surf! And what better place to learn how to do that, but in Huntington Beach, or Surf City, USA.

But there is so much more to Huntington Beach then just surfing. This dynamic coastal city, with its sunny Mediterranean climate and idyllic setting, is home to more than 200,000 residents. Huntington Beach boasts more than eight miles of scenic, accessible beachfront, the largest stretch of uninterrupted beachfront on the West Coast. It also has a wonderfully unique community with 100 years of incredible history, known all over the globe as a friendly community welcoming visitors from international countries, specialing in the Middle Eastern vacation traveler.

Our parks and recreation features one of the largest recreational piers in the world, public parks, riding stables and equestrian trails, a marina, and a wildlife preserve, and an eight-mile biking, inline skating, jogging, and walking trail along the ocean. The crown jewel of the recreation system is the wide expanse of beautiful and spacious beaches, where large crowds gather to watch professional sporting events as the U.S. Open of Surfing, AVP Pro Beach Volleyball and the Surf City USA Marathon. The Huntington Beach Art Center and the Huntington Beach Playhouse also provide a wide variety of fine arts, and the excellent library system and numerous museums provide a strong cultural foundation. Also, above you will see a copy of this year's Huntington Beach float for the Rose Parade.

My Personal Favorite: There is one activity in the Huntington Beach harbor that has become a favorite for myself and my family. I love paddle boarding!! This sport originated in Hawaii and has now been brought to our very own shores. You get to take a long board out on the harbor and paddle yourself, while standing on the board. It is an excellent workout, and a blast at the same time. You get to see and experience the ocean in a whole new way. This picture shows a professional, but don't worry, you start out on calm water, simply cruising the harbor.

You have to check out all that this incredible desination offers!

Come Sail Away!

After traveling to various countries, we have come to really love and appreciate our beautiful Orange County coasts. We have some of the best surfing, sailing, and fishing in the entire world, right at our doorstep. With this in mind, we wanted to create a unique package that would allow people to experience our beautiful coastline, whether it be a family out for an afternoon, a couple's retreat, or a business luncheon.
Travel in style to Dana Point Harbor and board a delux 36-passenger private sailing vessel with a captain. A champagne toast will be held upon arrival as you set sail. As you settle in to the luxury accomodations you will toast and dine with the beautiful coastline in view and the sun setting in the background. If you have a family on board, the kids can enjoy a sailing lesson with the captain and come away wearing their own captain's hat. Or, the vessel can take your family out for a dolphin-watching safari. For couples, surprise your loved one with a bouquet of roses and a candle-lit dinner aboard.

Come and rediscover the breath-taking views of our Orange County coasts, and find out why it has been called the California Riviera.

In the Fast Lane!

My family is coming home from the Car capital of the world, Dubai, where they saw a gold plated Ferrari among other exotic cars everywhere. Now that they have a new found fascination with cars, I’m looking forward to taking them to Cars and Coffee in Irvine to show them what it is all about.

Cars and Coffee is an event held at 5:30-6AM every Saturday morning in Irvine. It was originated in Crystal Cove off Pacific Coast Highway years back when a few wealthy car enthusiasts began meeting in a parking lot during the early hours of the morning to talk about and show one another their mutual enthusiasm/love for cars. The word spread about these exotic cars gathering in this location at the same time each week and more people began to bring their own cars. Over time this has become an "insiders" car show. There is no advertisement for it and it doesn't cost anything to show your car. You just have to KNOW about it to attend or even find it.

The event has grown nationally over the years and spread to other areas of the country such as Jacksonville FL, Las Vegas, Charlotte NC, Omaha NB, Honolulu HI, and others. It has very recently become nationally recognized with gatherings being held in Belgium and Netherlands. You can check out more about Cars and Coffee at http://online.carsandcoffee.info/. This is where some of my own enthusiasm and recognition in the car industry has flourished. I was fortunate enough to have my car photographed a couple of times and shown on the website along side of other noteworthy exotics!
Basically almost all of Orange County's wealthy automotive owners attend this event religiously, on any giving Saturday you can be sure to find BILLIONS of dollars worth of exotic/high end cars at this place that you would never see anywhere else unless you find these millionaires and sneak on their property and into their garages haha. That's the caliber of some of these cars, plenty of them never even see the public roads due to their exclusivity.

The World's Only 7-Star Hotel

Yesterday we had the once-in-a-lifetime experience of taking a tour through the Burj Al Arab, the only 7 star hotel in the world. For those of you from the states, it is the large sailboat hotel, perched atop a man-made island off of Dubai's coastline.

It is something that you truly can't put into words. As you walk in the entry-way is like something out of a movie, only far more grandiose! Giant aquariums line the walls and as you go up the escalator, the view looking up simply takes your breath away. The dominant color in the Burj is gold, and by gold, I mean real gold. Gold plating or gold leaf lines the walls, the pillars, chandeliers, ground, and picture frames.

From the basement floors with a giant aquarium and private cigar lounge, to the sky-view lounge and ballroom on the 28th floor overlooking the Dubai coast, this hotel is beyond one's imagination. If you want to book a room here, prepare for their 7 star service. Each room has a private butler on-call 24 hours a day. All we could picture as we were there was the ultimate in destination weddings.

International Travel for Families

One of the most difficult things about traveling with your family for vacation is the plane flight. Uncomfortable seats, cramped quarters, and boredom all take their toll on the kids and parents alike. However, we may have found a solution, making air travel far more convenient.

We had heard that Emirates Air was amazing, but we didn't realize how outstanding it really was. From the wonderful service in LAX to the gates in Dubai, we were so impressed. In Business class you can fully recline and are given the full treatment from socks to a five-course meal. In Economy class, each person has their own TV complete with hundreds of video games and movies. We had an incredible flight and to put it in our son Dillon's words, "I loved it because I got to lay down as I at french toast and watched an awesome movie!" Now, does that sound like your normal flying experience?!

You can check out more about international flights and take an interactive tour of the Emirates Air experience here.

Flyin' High!

Now this is an experience that is truly unique and just plain FUN! If you are looking for that activity that will get the whole family talking, this is it! Expand your creativity, and exercise your mind and body as you venture into the fascinating world of kites! Professional kite master Dave Shenkman, aka "The Kite Guy", will be your guide as you make your own kite and learn safe flying techniques. Then it's time to hit the beach to fly your kite, and also witness one of the best professional sport kite demonstrations in the state. For kids (and parents =) of all ages who want to have fun!

I found this half-day activity several months ago and took my two boys to check it out. It was a blast, and I think I had as much fun as they did. You've got to check this one out!

Unbelievable Evening for the Whole Family

STOMP at Orange County Performing Arts Center, Costa Mesa, CA this week only!

Back with new surprises, Stomp is explosive, provocative, sophisticated, sexy, utterly unique and appeals to audiences of all ages. The international percussion sensation has garnered an armful of awards and rave reviews, and has appeared on numerous national television shows. The eight-member troupe uses everything but conventional percussion instruments - matchboxes, wooden poles, brooms, garbage cans, Zippo lighters, hubcaps - to fill the stage with magnificent rhythms. read more

We had the pleasure of seeing STOMP last night at the OC Perf. Arts Center. This is an amazing performance and perfect to go to with the family. We made it a “multi-generation experience” with our two boys (8&9), and two 20-something year old friends of Le Rêve. All generations loved it and we even had our own tunes going on the way home. A great way to bond with the family! Enjoy our personal favorite pre-theater restaurant, Antonello Ristorante, for dinner before the show. Call us if you want us to arrange an unforgettable evening of fun!

Create memories for your wedding guests!

We know a wedding should never take focus off the bride, but imagine how popular the couple will be if they make the effort to really treat their guests to some special experiences. Take the groomsmen or dad and grandpa on a Ferrari racing experience, enjoy your final day as a single woman kayaking with your girlfriends or paddle boarding with a surf pro; capture photos from the weeks events, not just the wedding day, and have them harmonized with your favorite songs or surprise the bride & groom with a song recorded in a private recording studio.

There are so many ways to make a wedding gathering into the beginning of a legacy! In order to make sure everything coordinates well, you might want to think about having both a wedding planner for the "big day" as well as an itinerary coordinator, that makes sure everything and everyone else is taken care of, so that you don't have to!
