The Multigenerational Family Vacation

We are in a new generation of multigenerational families. Instead of just vacationing with your two kids, you now also have your uncles and aunts, cousins, grandmas and grandpas, and any number of other relations that are along for the ride. In addition to this, you might be traveling to a place that you don’t know anything about, other than what you read in a travel guide. This can make your yearly family vacation almost more work than relaxation. My husband Mike and I found this out the hard way. Together, we have over thirty years of travel industry experience and yet our family trip to Aruba didn’t turn out to be all we had hoped it would be. With our two boys, Mike’s three adult children, and several grandparents all converging on our timeshare, we returned from the trip exhausted from planning and coordinating schedules.

We started this blog in order to help families like us find the ideas and travel plans best suited for their own multigenerational family. We hope you enjoy our tips, and please let us know if you need any suggestions or if you have anything to contribute.
